Jennifer Furla brings a distinct focus and breadth of knowledge to her work from 25 years' experience in business development and the nonprofit sector. A thought leader in the nonprofit sector in her home market of Kansas City and nationally, Jennifer has led efforts to grow philanthropy and civic engagement through education and awareness. She helped produce Kansas City’s first and most recent Reports on Charitable Giving, chaired the region’s award-winning Leave a Legacy campaign and is a former board member and officer of the GivingUSA Foundation.
An attorney and journalist whose career includes top positions in fundraising consulting, nonprofit management, banking and law before joining HCapSearchNP, Jennifer intimately understands both the “people side” and the “business side” of nonprofits. Throughout, she has consistently designed and delivered innovative approaches to grow business relationships in new markets with a highly practical eye toward financial and personnel management.
As an officer of a national fundraising consultancy, Jennifer has worked with hundreds of nonprofit leaders and development officers, guiding a range of projects from start-up nonprofits and municipal-led projects in rural communities to large, national nonprofits with complex structures and $100 million-plus budgets. She shares a passion for community voluntarism with her husband, John, and dedicates countless hours to her son’s Scouting, school and sports activities. A proud booster of her hometown Kansas City, Jennifer serves on the board of the Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni Association.
